The construction of the Administration Building in Belval corresponds to the government service decentralisation policy, aimed at better distribution of jobs across the country. The building will house Environmental Administration, Water Management Administration, the National Commission for Data Protection and the “Fonds Belval”. The cubic capacity of the building is based on simple geometry – a 60m high rectangular tower is supported by a broad base, through which the architect gracefully and subtly works with gravity. The choice of materials – brick and metal – refers to the origin of industrial architecture, which shapes the entire site.
